Elon Musk's other tunnel-digging business, The Boring Company, will now take Dogecoin as payment in its recently opened Vegas Loop. The Loop is a transit system where Tesla car drivers shuttle people through a tunnel beneath Las Vegas. The first Loop station, which debuted last Friday, is located outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. Still, the business intends to build a 29-mile network of tunnels under the city with 51 stations in total.

Customers won't be able to spend their priceless DOGE there because rides on the Loop are currently free. But, when The Boring Company starts charging for rides in the future, they will be $2.50 for a day pass and $1.50 for a single ride.

This will actually be accomplished by scanning a sizable QR code that is displayed at the station. Consumers who prefer not to use Dogecoin can pay with a credit card and regular old U.S. dollars.

It is worth highlighting that Musk has long been a fan of Dogecoin, a parody cryptocurrency that saw a rise in both popularity and price last year. At one point, Musk stated that Dogecoin being the planet's future currency, would be "the most amusing outcome."

Although it has always been on a small scale, Musk's businesses have previously begun accepting Dogecoin. For instance, DOGE can be used at select Supercharger stations and to pay for Tesla goods.
